ORDINANCE NO. NS-1213 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTION 8-729 <br />OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE, PERTAIN- <br />ING TO PERMITS, FEES AND INSPECTIONS UNDER <br />THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 8-729 of the Santa Ana MuniCipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-729. Permits, Fees and Inspections (Article 91). <br /> <br /> Article 91 of the Electrical Code is added to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE 91 - PERMITS, FEES, AND INSPECTIONS <br /> <br />91-1. PERMITS. <br /> <br /> No electrical equipment shall be installed within or on <br />any building, structure or premises, publicly or privately <br />owned, nor shall any alteration or addition be made in any such <br />existing equipment without first securing a permit therefor from <br />the director of building safety, except as provided in subsection <br />91-1(a). <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Minor repair work, such as the replacement of lamps <br />or the repair and connection of portable electrical <br />equipment to suitable permanently installed receptacles. <br /> <br />91-2. ISSUANCE. <br /> <br /> Permits may be issued only to a person, firm or corporation <br />licensed by the state in the classification authorized to per- <br />form the work and subject to the conditions and limitations <br />qualifying under section 91-4, or to an owner qualifying under <br />section 91-5. <br /> <br />91-3. APPLICATIONS. <br /> <br /> Applications for electrical permits, describing the work <br />to be do~,-~shall~be made in writing to the director of building <br />safety. The application shall be accompanied by such plans, <br />specifications and schedules as may be necessary to determine <br />whether the installations as described will be in conformity <br />with the requirements of the sections in this code pertaining to <br />electricity. If it shall be found that the installation as des- <br />cribed will conform to all legal requirements, and if the appli- <br />cant has complied with the provisions of the sections in this <br />code pertaining to electricity, a permit for such installation <br />may be issued upon receipt of fees therefor, as prescribed in <br />section 91-12. No deviation may be made from the installation <br />described in the permit without the written approval of the direc- <br />tor of building safety. <br /> <br /> <br />
