(6) <br /> <br />Should the director of public works deny an application <br />for a permit or revoke a permit and forfeit any security <br />thereunder, the aggrieved party may appeal to the city <br />council by filing a notice of appeal with the clerk of <br />the council. The clerk shall place the matter on the <br />agenda of the next regularly scheduled meeting if the <br />notice of appeal is filed at least ten (10) days prior <br />to said meeting, and in the event it is not, it will <br />then be placed on the agenda of the meeting thereafter. <br /> <br />(7) <br /> <br />When the director of public works finds that any person <br />holding a permit under the provisions of Section 41-612 <br />of Chapter 41 has violated the provisions of this sec- <br />tion he may revoke such permit. No such revocation shall <br />become effective until the permit holder has been noti- <br />fied in writing by certified mail of his right to appeal <br />the revocation decision pursuant to the provisions of <br />Chapter 3 of this code. If a timely appeal is filed, <br />the revocation shall be effective only upon final deci- <br />sion of the city council. <br /> <br /> In the event that the decision of the Director of public works <br />revoking the permit is sustained after timely appeal, or if no <br />appeal is filed, the security deposit is forfeited. <br /> <br /> SECTION 18: Section 14-22 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to provide as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 14-22. Appendix F amended. <br /> <br /> Appendix F of the Uniform Fire Code, adopted in section 14-1 <br />of this chapter, is a_mended to read as follows: <br /> <br />1. Establishment and duties of bureau of fire prevention. <br /> <br />Se <br /> <br />The Uniform Fire Code shall be enforced by the <br />bureau of fire prevention in the fire department of <br />the City of Santa Ana which shall be operated un- <br />der the supervision of the chief of the fire depart- <br />ment. <br /> <br />DJ <br /> <br />The fire marshal in charge of the bureau of fire <br />prevention shall be appointed by the chief of the <br />fire department. <br /> <br />The chief of the fire department may detail such <br />members of the fire department as inspectors as <br />shall from time to time be necessary. The chief <br />of the fire department shall reconu~end to the city <br />manager the employment of technical inspectors, <br />who, when such authorization is made, shall be <br />selected through an examination to determine their <br />fitness for the position. The examination shall <br />be open to members and non-members of the fire <br />department, and appointments made after examina- <br />tion shall be for an indefinite term, with removal <br />only for cause. <br /> <br />2. Definitions. <br /> <br />Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in the <br />Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean the <br />City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />Wherever the term "corporation counsel" is used <br />in the Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean <br />the city attorney of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />c.
