2. Amendment No. 2 <br /> <br /> The Redevelopment Plan is hereby amended by striking out the <br /> <br />language of Section I Paragraph B in its entirety and substituting <br />in lieu thereof the following: <br /> <br /> B. Redevelopment Plan Objectives <br /> <br /> The purpose for amending the Redevelopment Plan is to recognize <br />the strong interdependence between the downtown commercial core <br />area, which constitutes the existing Project Area, and the <br />northern retail center surrounding Fashion Square. These two areas <br />constitute the primary centers of business and commercial activity <br />in Santa Aha. The Redevelopment Plan proposes to develop these areas <br />as complementary, rather than competing, centers of business and <br />shopping. To strengthen the interdependence of the two areas, the <br />Plan also proposes to improve the traffic corridor between the two <br />areas. <br /> <br /> The objectives of the Redevelopment Plan (hereinafter called <br />"the Plan") are to: <br /> <br /> 1. To work in development and revitalization of the downtown <br /> core and northern core so that the two areas are comple- <br /> mentary in terms of land use and development of that use <br /> rather than contradictory and competitive. <br /> <br /> 2. To strengthen vehicular access between the northern retail <br /> center and the downtown area and to implement a program of <br /> improved traffic circulation and freeway access between <br /> north and central Santa Aha in order that service of both <br /> areas are more available to all persons in and surrounding <br /> the Project Area. <br /> <br />-7- <br /> <br /> <br />
