ORDINANCE NS-1270 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NS-1270 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, <br />FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY ASCERTAINED TO FINANCE OPER- <br />ATING AND CAPITAL EXPENDITURE COSTS OF THE VARIOUS DEPART- <br />MENTS OF THE CITY, AND TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS <br />FALLING DUE FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR 1975-76 FIXING <br />THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR SAID CURRENT FISCAL YEAR, AND <br />DESIGNATING THE NUMBER OF CENTS OF TAX ON EACH $100.00 OF <br />ASSESSED VALUE FOR THE VARIOUS FUNDS OF SAID CITY HEREBY <br />LEVIED ON THE WHOLE OF THE TAXABLE PROPERTY IN SAID CITY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore, on the 28th day of December, 1914, the City <br />of Santa Ana did elect to avail itself of the provisions of State Law <br />providing that assessment of property and collection of taxes might <br />be done for cities by the county in which the city was located; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 600 of the Charter of <br />the City of Santa Ana, the county system of assessment and tax col- <br />lection shall continue to be used unless otherwise provided by <br />ordinance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Auditor of the County of Orange has informed the <br />City of Santa Ana that his office has made a tentative determination <br />showing the total value of all property within the corporate limits <br />for the fiscal year 1975-76 and fixed said sum for said fiscal year <br />at $602,032,000, exclusive of operative property belonging to public <br />utilities, and showing the total value of all property belonging to <br />public utilities and used as operative property within the corporate <br />limits of the said City for said fiscal year as tentatively determined <br />by the Board of Equalization of the State of California to be <br />$26,000,000, which said amounts make a total of the sum of $628,032,000. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFOP~E, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That the total valuation of the taxable property of <br />the City of Santa Ana of $628,032,000 shall be used as a basis for <br />the levy of the taxes of said City, at the same time and in the same <br />manner in which the County of Orange levies are made and collected. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does <br />hereby levy a tax for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1975, and <br />ending June 30, 1976 for the purpose of financing the operating and <br />capital expenditure costs of the various departments, to pay the <br />bonded indebtedness and interest, to pay the amounts due the State <br />Employees' Retirement System, to maintain the library, to operate <br />the recreation and parks program, and fixes the rate thereof at $1.6100 <br />on each $100.00 of assessed value of all property within the City of <br />Santa Ana except as to payment on bonded indebtedness, which tax <br />hereby levied shall not apply to those areas expressly excluded <br />hereinbelow, and apportions said amount among the various funds and <br />purposes as follows: <br /> <br /> For the GENERAL FUND, $0.7950 on each $100.00 of the taxable <br />property in said City; <br /> <br /> For the LIBRARY FUND, $0.1500 on each $100.00 of the taxable <br />property in said City; <br /> <br /> For the RECREATION AND PARK FUND, $0.0700 on each $100.00 of the <br />taxable property in said C~ty; <br /> <br /> For the CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND, $0.1800 on each $100.00 of the <br />taxable property in said City; <br /> <br /> For the RETIREMENT FUND, $0.4000 on each $100.00 of the taxable <br />property in said City; and <br /> <br /> For BONDED INDEBTEDNESS as next hereinbelow set out, $0.0150 each <br />$100.00 of the taxable property in the special areas as next hereinbelow <br />set out. <br /> <br /> <br />
