NS- 1289 <br />PAGE FOUR <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That Division 2, Chapter 36 of the Santa <br />Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adopting and adding <br />to said Division and Chapter a new Article VII.A. to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE VII.A. DECREASED PRI~ FACIE SPEED LIMITS <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds <br />and determines, upon the basis of engineering and traffic sur- <br />veys made on the dates hereinafter in this Article VII.A speci- <br />fied, that the prima facie speed limit of 55 miles per hour <br />is more than is reasonable or safe upon the streets and por- <br />tions of streets hereinafter specified where the limit of <br />55 miles per hour is applicable, and does hereby determine <br />and declare prima facie speed limits upon such streets and <br />portions of streets as are hereinafter respectively specified, <br />which said prima facie speed limits are found most appropriate <br />to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and are reason- <br />able and safe. The prima facie speed limits hereinafter <br />specified shall be effective, respectively, when appropriate <br />signs giving notice thereof are erect upon the street and <br />portions of streets hereinafter specified.
