Shall Sections 1200, 1202 and 1203 : : <br />of the Charter be amended to allow the City : : <br />Council to provide for an election by resolution : : <br />as well as by ordinance; to substitute the term : YES : <br />"general law cities" for "cities of the sixth(6th) : : <br />class"; and to limit the occasions on which : : <br />special elections can be called to council vacancy : : <br />elections, initiative, referendum and recall elec- : : <br />tions, charter amendment elections pursuant to : : <br />petition, elections consolidated with state or : NO : <br />county elections, or election dates approved by : : <br />two-thirds of the Council? : : <br /> <br />COMPENSATION FOR COUNCIL MEMBERS. Shall Section : : <br />402 of the Charter be amended to increase the : YES : <br />monthly compensation of council members from : : <br />$125.00 to $300.00? <br /> <br />COMPENSATION OF MAYOR. Shall Section 402 of the <br />Charter be amended to increase the monthly com- <br />pensation the Mayor receives, over and above that <br />which he receives as a councilman, from $75.00 to <br />$200.00? <br /> <br />: YES : : <br /> <br />: NO : : <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: That each of the above said proposals shall <br />be designated on the ballot by a letter, pursuant to Section 10219 <br />of the Elections Code of the State of California. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4: That the said special municipal election <br />shall be conducted in accordance with the Elections Code of the <br />State of California, and the Clerk of the Council is hereby autho- <br />rized and directed to take all actions necessary or appropriate <br />with respect thereto, except to the extent such actions may be <br />undertaken by the Registrar of Voters of the County of Orange <br />upon consolidation of the said special municipal election with <br />the statewide general election. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5: That notice of the time and place of holding <br />said special municipal election is hereby given, and the Clerk <br />of the Council is hereby authorized and directed to give such <br />additional notice thereof as required by law. <br /> <br /> ADOPTED, this 24th day of August , 1976, by the <br />following vote: <br /> <br />AYES: COUNCILMEN: Ward, Brandt, Bricken, Yamamoto <br /> <br />NOES: COUNCILMEN: Evans <br /> <br /> ABSENT: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> ~ORENCE I.
