ORDINANCE NO. NS-1424 <br />Page 16 <br /> <br />Tests shall be performed on the samples in the <br />following order: <br /> <br />ae <br /> <br />With the panels in the test position, a <br />concentrated load of 800 pounds shall be <br />applied to the vertical pull stile incor- <br />porating a locking device, at a point on <br />the stile within 6 inches of the locking <br />device, in the direction parallel to the <br />plane of the glass that would tend to open <br />the door. With the load removed, deter- <br />mine if the primary locking device can be <br />unlocked by manipulation as described in <br />Test 1, infra. <br /> <br />With panels in the test position, a con- <br />centrated load of 50 pounds shall be <br />applied to the vertical pull stile incor- <br />porating a locking device, at a point on <br />the stile within 6 inches of the locking <br />device, in the direction parallel to the <br />plane of the glass that would tend to open <br />the door while, simultaneously, an addi- <br />tional concentrated load of 200 pounds is <br />applied to the same area of the same stile <br />in a direction perpendicular to the plane <br />of glass toward the interior side of the <br />building. With the load applied, deter- <br />mine if the primary locking device can be <br />unlocked by manipulation as directed in <br />Test 1, infra. <br /> <br />Repeat Test b substituting 800 pounds for <br />the indicated 50 pounds. Perform the <br />manipulation tests with the load removed. <br /> <br />With the panels in the test position, a <br />concentrated load of 50 pounds shall be <br />applied to the vertical pull stile incor- <br />porating a locking device, at a point on <br />the stile within 6 inches of the locking <br />device, in the direction parallel to the <br />plane of the glass that would tend to open <br />the door while simultaneously, an addi- <br />tional concentrated load of 200 pounds is <br />applied to the same stile in the direction <br />perpendicular to the plane of the glass <br />toward the exterior side of the door. <br />With the load applied, determine if the <br />primary locking device can be unlocked by <br />manipulation as described in Test 1, <br />infra. <br /> <br />e® <br /> <br />Repeat Test d substituting 800 pounds for <br />the indicated 50 pounds. Perform the <br />manipulation tests with the load removed. <br /> <br />ft <br /> <br />with the movable panel lifted upward to <br />its full limit within the confines of the <br />door frame, a concentrated load of 800 <br />pounds shall be applied separately to each <br />vertical pull stile incorporating a lock- <br />ing device, at a point on the stile within <br />6 inches of the locking device, in the <br />direction parallel to the plane of the <br />glass that would tend to open the door. <br /> <br /> <br />
