NS-1462 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTION 14-1, 14-3, 14-4,14-5,14-7 <br />14-9, 14-10 AND 14-14 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, ADDING SECTIONS 14-15, <br />14-16, 14-17, 14-18, 14-19 AND 14-20 <br />THERETO, AND REPEALING SECTIONS 14-2, <br />14-6, 14-12, 14-13 AND 14-22 <br />THEREOF, TO ADOPT THE 1976 EDITION OF <br />THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE WITH AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That section 14-1 of the Santa Ana <br />Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 14-1 Adoption of the Uniform Fire Code, 1976 <br /> <br /> There is hereby adopted by the City of Santa Aha <br />that certain code known as the "Uniform Fire Code, 1976 Edition" <br />and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are <br />hereinafter deleted or amended, of which code not less than <br />three (3) copies have been and are now on file in the office <br />of the Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana. The <br />said code is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set <br />forth at length herein, and, subject to all amendments set <br />forth in this chapter, shall be in effect within the City of <br />Santa Ana from the effective date of this ordinance. Any <br />provision of this chapter amending the Uniform Fire Code <br />shall be construed as amending the 1976 edition thereof <br />including such provisions enacted prior to this adoption of <br />the said 1976 edition and not thereafter repealed. The said <br />Uniform Fire Code, 1976 Edition, as thus amended, together <br />with all other provisions of this chapter, shall be known as <br />the "Fire Code of the City of Santa Aha." <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That section 14-3 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 14-3. Compliance with Recognized Standards <br /> (Section 1.216) <br /> <br /> Section 1.216 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br />COMPLIANCE WITH RECOGNIZED STANDARDS <br /> <br /> Sec. 1.216. Whenever this Code is inapplicable <br />for any reason to any situation involving the protection of <br />persons and property from the hazards of fire and explosion, <br />the materials, methods of construction, installations, <br />practices, or operations necessary to provide such protections <br />shall, to a reasonable degree, be in accordance with nationally <br />recognized and accepted standards, principles and tests and <br />generally recognized and well established methods of fire <br />prevention and control, as set forth in the following publications <br />by recognized national authorities and technical or scientific <br />organizations, which are adopted by reference as part of <br />this Code as though set forth herein in full. <br /> <br /> <br />
