NS-1462 <br />PAGE TEN <br /> <br />of Santa Ana which shall be operated under the supervision <br />of the chief of the fire department. <br /> <br /> (b) The fire marshal in charge of the Bureau of <br />Fire Prevention shall be appointed by the chief of the fire <br />department. <br /> <br /> (c) The chief of the fire department may detail <br />such members of the fire department as inspectors as shall <br />from time to time be necessary. The chief of the fire <br />department shall recommend to the city manager the employment <br />of technical inspectors, who, when such authorization is <br />made, shall be selected through an examination to determine <br />their fitness for the position. The examination shall be <br />open to members and non-members of the fire department, and <br />appointments made after examination shall be for an indefinite <br />term; with removal only for cause. <br /> <br /> SECTION 9: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, is <br />hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 14-16, <br />which said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 14-16. Definitions. <br /> <br /> (a) Wherever the word "jurisdiction" is used in <br />the Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean the City of <br />Santa Aha. <br /> <br /> (b) Wherever the term "corporation counsel" is <br />used in the Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean the <br />city attorney of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> (c) Wherever the term "chief of the bureau of fire <br />prevention" is used in the Uniform Fire Code, it shall be <br />held to mean the fire marshal. <br /> <br /> (d) Wherever the term "bureau of fire prevention" <br />is used in the Uniform Fire Code, it shall be held to mean <br />the Fire Safety Division. <br /> <br /> SECTION 10: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code, <br />hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 14-17, <br />which said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />Sec. 14-17. <br /> <br />Establishment of limits in which <br />certain activities are prohibited <br />or restricted. <br /> <br /> The following limits are established in accordance <br />with the use district boundaries established by the zoning <br />ordinances of the City of Santa Ana and the land use regulations <br />set forth in chapter 41 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code: <br /> <br /> (1) The limits referred to in section 15.201 of <br />the Uniform Fire Code in which storage of flammable or <br />combustible liquids in outside aboveground tanks is prohibited. <br /> <br /> (2) The limits referred to in section 15.601 of <br />the Uniform Fire Code in which new bulk plants for flammable <br />or combustible liquids are prohibited. <br /> <br /> (3) The limits referred to in section 20.105(a) <br />the Uniform Fire Code in which bulk storage of liquified <br />petroleum gas is restricted. <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />-!0- <br /> <br /> <br />
