NS-1570 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTION 1-18 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO AUTHORIZE SPECIFIED <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT AND RECREATION AND <br />PARKS DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL TO ISSUE <br />CITATIONS FOR VIOLATIONS OF SPECIFIED <br />SECTIONS OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br />ORDAIN AS <br />Municipal <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That Section 1-18 of the Santa Ana <br />Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 1-18. <br /> <br />Violations; authority to issue <br />citations. <br /> <br /> The following designated public officers and <br />employees have the duty to enforce provisions of <br />this Code as hereinafter specified, and are auth- <br />orized to arrest persons without a warrant whenever <br />they have reasonable cause to believe that the <br />person to be arrested has committed a violation <br />of said provisions in their presence. In any case <br />in which a person is arrested pursuant to this <br />section and the person arrested does not demand <br />to be taken before a magistrate, the officer or <br />employee making the arrest shall prepare a writ- <br />ten notice to appear and release the person on <br />his promise to appear as prescribed by Chapter <br />5C, Title III, of Part 2 of the Penal Code of the <br />State of California (commencing with Section 853.6). <br />The public officers and employees so empowered are: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />The director of public works, the assistant <br />director of public works, the construction <br />engineer and all sanitation inspectors of the <br />City of Santa Ana, all of whom are empowered <br />as specified hereinabove to enforce the pro- <br />visions of Sections 16-1, through 16-4, 16-33, <br />16-34, and 16-48 of Chapter 16 of this Code. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />The director of planning, assistant director <br />of planning, senior planner, and the land use <br />investigators of the City of Santa Ana, all <br />of whom are empowered as specified hereinabove <br />to enforce the provisions of Chapter 41 of the <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code except those provisions <br />relating to building construction. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />The director of building safety, the senior <br />building inspectors, and the building in- <br />spectors of the City of Santa Ana, all of <br />whom are empowered as specified hereinabove <br />to enforce the provisions of Chapter 8 of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
