NS- 1630 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 14-2, 14-5 AND 14-7.2, AND <br />REPEALING SECTION 14-18, OF CHAPTER 14 OF THE <br />SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO APPEALS, <br />INSTALLATION OF AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEMS <br />AND FIREWORKS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. That Section 14-2 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 14-2. Board of Appeals (Section 1.215) <br /> <br /> Section 1.215 of the Uniform Fire Code is ~mended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br /> The uniform code appeals board shall have the power and <br />be required to hear appeals regarding the fire chief's <br />denial of, or refusal to grant, any application for a permit <br />required under any provision of the fire code, the determina- <br />tion of the suitability of alternative materials and types <br />of construction, and the reasonable interpretation of the <br />provisions in the event of a dispute. Any such appeal shall <br />be f~led with the secretary for the uniform code appeals <br />board within ten (10) days from the date of the decision <br />being appealed. Any appeal, once filed, shall be governed <br />by the board's duly adopted procedural rules and regulations. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That Section 14-5 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 14-5. Fireworks (Article 12) <br /> <br /> Article 12 of the Uniform Fire Code is amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE 12. FIREWORKS <br /> <br />Sec. 12.101. Dangerous Fireworks defined. <br /> <br /> For purposes of this code, "dangerous fireworks" <br />shall mean "dangerous fireworks" as defined in the state <br />fireworks law and the regulations of the state fire marshal <br />adopted pursuant thereto, as they may from time to time be <br />amended. <br /> <br />Sec. 12.102. Safe and Sane Fireworks defined. <br /> <br /> For purposes of this code, "safe and sane fireworks" <br />shall mean "safe and sane fireworks" as defined in the state <br />fireworks law and the regulations of the state fire marshal <br />adopted pursuant thereto, as they may from time to time be <br />amended. <br /> <br />Sec. 12.103. Dangerous Fireworks Prohibited. <br /> <br /> No person, firm, or organization shall manufacture, <br />store, display, sell, offer for sale, possess, discharge, <br />explode, fire, or set off any dangerous fireworks within the <br />City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> <br />
