NS-1642 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ORDERING, <br /> CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A <br />SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE <br />SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 2, 1982, FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF SUBMITTING TO THE QUALIFIED~VOTERS OF SAID CITY <br />CERTAIN PROPOSALS TO AMEND THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br />desires that a special municipal election be held on <br />November 2, 1982, for the purpose of submitting certain <br />proposed amendments to the Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />to the qualified voters of said city; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council is requesting the Board <br />of Supervisors of Orange County to order the consolidation <br />of the said special municipal election with the statewide <br />general election to be held on the same date; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1~ That a special election be held and <br />the same is hereby called to be held, in the City of Santa <br />Ana on November 2, 1982, for the purpose of submitting to <br />the qualified voters of said city the proposals hereinafter <br />set forth to amend the Charter of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />special <br />by law, <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That on the ballot to be used at said <br />election, in addition to any other matters required <br />there shall be printed substantially the following: <br /> <br />CHARTER LANGUAGE. Shall the Charter be <br />amended to bring Charter provisions into con- <br />formance with state law, deleting superflu- <br />ous language, and revise regulation of <br />political activity, including: <br /> <br />-Providing for infraction prosecutions; <br /> <br />-Adjusting competitive bidding amount; <br /> <br />-Requiring Constitutional oath of office <br />as the only required oath; <br /> <br /> <br />
