ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1683 <br />PAGE THREE <br /> <br />SECTION 4: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />amended by adding a section, to be numbered 33-8, <br />section reads as follows: <br /> <br />is hereby <br />which said <br /> <br />Sec. 33-8. Review by the Council. <br /> <br /> (a) Following the decision of the planning <br />commission under section 33-6, the director of planning and <br />development services shall prepare a report of the <br />commission's action, summarizing the public input, if any, <br />and the reasons for the commission's decision. Such report <br />shall be submitted to the city council at its first regular <br />meeting occurring at least ten (10) days after the <br />commission's action. The city council may affirm the <br />commission's decision, remand the matter back to the <br />planning commission for further consideration, or make its <br />own decision on the matter. <br /> <br /> (b) Any person who desires to express opposition <br />to the planning commission's decision may address the <br />council prior to the council's action under this section or <br />may submit such opposition in writing prior to such time. <br />The director of planning and development services shall <br />provide notification of the date and approximate time of the <br />council's action to any person who requests such <br />notification. <br /> <br />SECTION 5: That section 34-66 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 34-66. Street names. <br /> <br /> In the case of any subdivision in which the <br />dedication and/or improvement of a new street or extension <br />of a street (but excluding widenings of existing streets) is <br />proposed or required, the proposed name of such street, as <br />designated on the tentative map or otherwise, shall be <br />submitted for approval pursuant to sections 33-5 through 33- <br />9 of this Code. The name of the street as designated on the <br />parcel map or final map shall conform to the name approved <br />pursuant to said sections, notwithstanding any other <br />designation on a previously approved tentative map. <br /> <br />SECTION 6: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, <br />phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held <br />to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any <br />court or competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not <br />affect the validity of the remaining portions of this <br /> <br /> <br />
