NS- 1697 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTION 10-280 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO FALSE ALARMS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES <br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That section 10-280 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 10-280. False Alarm penalty assessment. <br /> <br /> When any emergency alarms, messages, signals, or <br />notices are received by the Police Department showing that <br />an alarm user has failed to meet any of the requirements of <br />this article, the Chief of Police is authorized to demand <br />that the user of that alarm system disconnect the system <br />until it is made to comply with said requirements. <br /> <br /> (a) Any person having an alarm system which <br />resutfs in a police response in which the alarm proves to be <br />a false alarm, shall pay a penalty assessment fee to the <br />City of Santa Ana as follows: <br /> <br /> (1) False alarms, other than those <br />defined in subsection (a) (2) of this section, <br />received by the Santa Ana Police Department from <br />alarm systems which are in existence at the time <br />of the adoption of this section and which are in <br />excess of the maximum allowable number, as set <br />forth in subsection (a)(3) of this section, shall <br />result in a Fifty Dollar ($50.00) penalty assessment. <br /> <br /> (2) False alarms from alarms designed <br />to be activated while the business is open and/or <br />occupied and requiring activation by an employee, <br />or a residential alarm_designed to be activated <br />by the tenant from within the residence, which in- <br />dicate the commission of a crime defined by <br />California Penal Code Section 211 (Robbery) and <br />which are in existence at the time of the adoption <br /> of this section and are in excess of the maximum <br /> <br /> <br />
