NS- 1721 <br />PAGE FOURTEEN <br /> <br />(b) Location <br /> <br /> (1) A freestanding sign may be located only in a <br />landscaped planter having an area at least twice as large as <br />the area of one face of the sign. <br /> <br /> (2) No freestanding siun shall be located in the <br />triangular area(s) measured by a 10-foot by-10-foot diagonal <br />cutoff where a driveway enters on to a street, or in any <br />other area which may obstruct the vision of motorists so as <br />to create a safety hazard. <br /> <br />(c) Height and Area <br /> <br /> (1) Except as provided in subsection (c)(2) here- <br />inbelow, no freestanding sign shall exceed ten feet in height <br />and sixty square feet in area. <br /> <br /> (2) A freestanding sign may be permitted with a <br />height not exceeding 35 feet and an area not exceeding 100 <br />square feet, provided all of the following conditions are <br />satisfied: <br /> <br /> a. The sign is located on a site which has <br />frontage on a freeway right-of-way or which is located with- <br />in 300 feet of a freeway exit; <br /> <br /> b. The sign is oriented toward viewing by <br />freeway traffic; <br /> <br /> c. The sign is limited in content to the <br />identification of the business name of a business which <br />offers a service or product of specific interest to the <br />travelling public, including, but not limited to, transient <br />lodging, prepared food and goods and services necessary to <br />the normal operation of motor vehicles. <br /> <br />(d) Content <br /> <br /> (1) No freestanding sign shall contain more than <br />ten items of information. <br /> <br /> (2) The copy area of a freestanding sign shall <br />not exceed forty percent (40%) of the background area. <br /> <br /> <br />
