ORDINANCE NO. NS-1809 <br />PAGE FOUR <br /> <br />SECTION 8: That section 8-403 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended by adding a section, to be designated numbered <br />section 8-403, which said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-403. Materials (§401(a)) <br /> <br /> Section 401(a) of the Plumbing Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) Drainage pipe shall be cast iron, galvanized steel, <br />galvanized wrought iron, lead, copper, brass, ABS, PVC or <br />other approved materials having a smooth and uniform bore, <br />except that: (1) No galvanized wrought iron or galvanized <br />steel pipe shall be used underground and shall be kept at <br />least six (6) inches (152.4mm) above ground. (2) ABS or PVO <br />installations shall be limited to residential construction, <br />not more than two (2) stories in height. (3) No vitrified <br />clay pipe or fittings shall be used above ground and shall be <br />kept at least twelve (12) inches (.3m) below ground. <br /> <br />SECTION 9: That section 8-404 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered section <br />8-404, which said section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-404. Materials. (§ 503(a)). <br /> <br /> Section 503(a) of the Plumbing Code is amended to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> (a) Vent pipe shall be cast iron, galvanized steel, <br />galvanized wrought iron, lead, copper, brass, ABS, PVC or <br />other approved materials except that: <br /> <br /> (1) No galvanized wrought iron or galvanized steel <br />pipe shall be used underground and shall be kept at <br />least six (6) inches above ground. <br /> <br /> (2) ABS or PVC installations shall be <br />residential construction not more than two <br />in height. <br /> <br />limited to <br />(2) stories <br /> <br />SECTION 10: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended <br />by adding a section, to be numbered 8-405, which said section <br /> <br /> <br />
