NS- 1860 <br />PAGE SEVEN <br /> <br />for each activity on a site, unless the building or <br />portion thereof in which the activity is located has <br />walls facing more than one street or public area, in <br />which case the activity may have one such sign on each <br />such wall. (As used herein, "street" shall include <br />freeways, but exclude alleys and service ways.) Sign <br />area shall not exceed forty (40) percent of the sign- <br />able area where located, to a maximum of two (2) square <br />feet of sign area per lineal foot of business frontage. <br /> <br />(b) Location. No wall sign or canopy sign shall be <br />placed higher than the ground floor of a building, <br />except a major building identification sign permitted <br />pursuant to section 41-1007. <br /> <br />(c) Length. The horizontal dimension of any canopy <br />sign shall not exceed seventy-five (75) percent of the <br />horizontal dimension of the portion of the building <br />occupied by the activity identified by the sign, <br />measured on the side of the building on which the <br />sign is located. <br /> <br />(d) Content. <br /> <br />(1) No wall sign or canopy sign shall contain <br /> more than seven (7) items of information. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />No wall sign or canopy sign shall advertise <br />or identify any activity which is not <br />located on the ground level of occupancy <br />of the building. <br /> <br />(e) Wall signs in commercial centers. Ail wall signs <br />identifying individual businesses in a commercial center <br />shall have a rectangular shape. They shall be consist- <br />ently centered above the business entrances and located <br />within an architecturally consistent area of the build- <br />ing facade. Lettering styles shall be easily readable. <br />Individual, precast or molded letters or a wooden sign <br />with routed, carved, painted or sandblasted letters <br />shall be utilized. <br /> <br />SECTION 14: The Landscaping Standards set forth in Exhibit A, <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, are here- <br />by approved and adopted as the standards specified in section <br />41-372(d) of the Santa Ana Municipal Code. Said landscaping <br />standards may hereafter be amended or repealed by resolution <br />of the city council. <br /> <br /> <br />
