NS- 1878 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REPEALING SECTION 8-163 OF THE SANTA <br />ANA MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING SECTION <br />8-169 THERETO, TO REVISE THE REGULATION <br />PERTAINING TO ROOFING AND RE-ROOFING <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That Section 8-163 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended by adding a section to be numbered 8-169, which said <br />section reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-169 Re-roofing. <br /> <br /> Section 3209 is added to the Building Code,.to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Sec. 3209. Ail re-roofing shall conform to-the applicable <br />provisions of chapter 32 of this code. Roofing materials and <br />methods of application shall comply with the Uniform Building <br />Code Standards or shall follow the manufacturer's installation <br />requirements if approved by the building official. <br /> <br /> EXCEPTION i: .Re~r6ofing o~ Group R, Division 3 and Group M <br />occupancies may be done with wood shingles and shakes conforming <br />to subsections (g) and (h) of Section 3203 if the original or <br />existing roof covering consisted of wood shingles or shakes. <br /> <br /> EXCEPTION 2: Notwithstanding the provisions of Section <br />104(b), once during any 12-month period, any existing roof <br />covering may be replaced with the same kind of covering if the <br />replacement area does not exceed ten percent (10%) of the gross <br />roof area. <br /> <br /> <br />
