006 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1901 <br />PAGE TWO <br /> <br />SECTION 3: That Section 8-303 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-303. Department having jurisdiction. <br /> <br /> Administration and enforcement of this code shall be <br />the duty of the building official of the city. <br /> <br />SECTION 4: The Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by <br />adding a section, to be numbered S 8-399, which said section <br />shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-399. <br /> <br />Hanger and supports (Section 316(b), <br />horizontal piping. <br /> <br /> Section 316(b) of the Plumbing Code is amended to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />(b) Horizontal piping: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Supports - Horizontal <br />at sufficiently close <br />alignment and prevent <br /> <br />piping shall be supported <br />intervals to keep it in <br />sagging. <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />Cast iron soil pipe - Where joints occur, <br />suspended cast iron soil pipe shall be supported <br />with approved manufactured split ring or clevis <br />type hangers and rods at not more than five (5) <br />foot intervals; except that pipe exceeding five <br />(5) feet in length, may be supported at not more <br />than ten (10) foot intervals. Supports shall be <br />adequate to maintain alignment and prevent <br />sagging and shall be placed within eighteen (18) <br />inches of the hub or joint. Hubless or <br />compression gasket joints must be supported at <br />least at every other joint except that when the <br />developed length between supports exceeds four <br />(4) feet, they shall be provided at each joint. <br />Supports shall also be provided at each <br />horizontal branch connection. Supports shall be <br />placed on or immediately adjacent to the <br />coupling. Suspended lines shall be suitably <br />braced to prevent horizontal movement. <br /> <br /> <br />
