ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1902 PAGE TWO SECTION 3: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered S 8-562, which said section shall read as follows: Sec. 8-562. Gas burning appliances (Section 503(c)). Section 503(c) of the Mechanical Code is amended to read as follows: (c) Gas burning appliances - Ail appliances designed to burn gas shall be rigidly connected to the gas supply outlet in an approved manner with approved materials as provided in Section 2212. Appliances located on the exterior of the building shall be connected to the gas piping as provided in Section 2213(g) and (k) of this code. Listed metal appliance connectors shall not be used at exterior locations. SECTION 4: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered § 8-563, which said section shall read as follows: Sec. 8-563. Appliance connectors (Section 2214). Section 2214 of the Mechanical Code is amended to read as follows: Sec. 2214. Appliance connections shall have a diameter not less than that of the inlet connection to the appliance as provided by the manufacturer and each appliance shall be rigidly connected to the gas piping with materials as provided in Section 2212. Appliances located on the roof or outside of the building shall be connected to the gas piping as provided in Section 2213(g) and (k) of this code. Listed metal appliance connectors shall not be used at exterior locations. SECTION 5: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
