REL:mb(3) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. NS-]9~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />ADDING SECTION 36-172 TO THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO DESIGNATE TERMINAL <br />ACCESS ROUTES FOR EXTRA-LARGE TRUCKS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal <br />by adding a section, to be numbered 36-172, <br />reads as follows: <br /> <br />Code is hereby amended <br />which said section <br /> <br />Sec. 36-172. Terminal access routes. <br /> <br /> (a) The truck routes specified in section 36-170, <br />exclusive of the streets specified in subsection (b) <br />of this section, are hereby designated as terminal access <br />routes, which may be used by a combination of vehicles <br />(consisting of a truck tractor and semitrailer, or of a <br />truck tractor, semitrailer, and trailer) which exceeds <br />any of the size limitations set forth in sections 35400 <br />and 35401 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, <br />and which is exempted from such limitations pursuant to <br />section 35401.5(a) of said Vehicle Code, for the purpose <br />of access to or from a facility at which freight is <br />consolidated to be shipped or where full load consignments <br />may be off-loaded or at which the vehicle combinations are <br />regularly maintained, stored or manufactured. <br /> <br /> (b) The following streets are excluded from the <br />designation of terminal access routes under this section: <br /> <br />(1) Main Street north of Warner Avenue. <br /> <br />(2) Fourth Street west of Tustin Avenue. <br /> <br /> (c) The Executive Director of the Public Works Agency <br />is authorized and directed to provide signing as necessary <br />to indicate the use as terminal access routes of the <br />streets specified in this section for such use. <br /> <br /> (d) From and after the provision of signing pursuant <br />to subsection (c) of this section~no person may operate any <br />combination of vehicles exceeding any of the size limita- <br />tions set forth in sections 35400 and 35401 of the Vehicle <br />Code of the State of California on any street in the City <br />of Santa Ana other than streets which are designated as <br />terminal access routes pursuant to this section. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, <br />phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to <br />be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of <br />competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the <br /> <br /> <br />
