NS- 1966 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTION 29-1 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADDING SECTIONS 29-1.1 <br />AND 29-1.2 THERETO TO PROVIDE FOR ANNUAL <br />PERMITS FOR POOL AND BILLIARDS ESTABLISH- <br />MENTS AND TO PROVIDE FOR A FEE FOR SUCH <br />PERMIT APPLICATIONS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That section 29-1 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 29-1. <br /> <br />Permit - Required; application; granting or <br />denying. <br /> <br /> No person shall engage in any business where games of <br />billiards or pool are conducted unless a permit for such <br />business has been issued by the chief of police and such <br />permit has not expired or been revoked. Any person desiring <br />to engage in any such business shall first make application <br />in writing for such permit to the chief of police. The chief <br />of police shall have full power to grant or deny said permit <br />and, after investigation, if it shall appear to the chief of <br />police that said person is a proper and suitable person and <br />the location and arrangement of the proposed place where said <br />business is to be conducted is satisfactory, the chief of <br />police shall grant said permit, subject to all applicable pro- <br />visions of this Code; otherwise, he shall deny the same. Any <br />person aggrieved by the refusal of the chief of police to <br />grant a permit may appeal the decision to the city council as <br />provided in Chapter 3 of the City Code. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: That the Santa Ana Municipal <br />by adding a section, to be numbered 29-1.1, <br />reads as follows: <br /> <br />Code is hereby amended <br />which said section <br /> <br />Sec. 29-1.1. Permit term. <br /> <br /> No permit required by section 29-1 shall be issued by the <br />chief of police for a period in excess of twelve (12) months. <br /> <br /> <br />
