ORDINANCE NO. NS- <br /> <br /> EJC:mb(35) <br /> 12/7/88 <br /> Rev. 2/6/89 <br />2001 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTIONS 2-600, <br />2-603, 2-604, AND 2-607; REPEALING SECTIONS <br />2-602, 2-605, 2-606, 2-608 AND 2-609; AND <br />ADDING ARTICLE XV TO CHAPTER 13 OF THE SANTA <br />ANA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE SANTA <br />ANA PUBLIC LIBRARY. <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That section 2-600 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-600. Establishment. <br /> <br /> A public library is established in the City for its <br />inhabitants and nonresident taxpayers. The public library <br />shall provide free basic library services, subject always <br />to such ordinances and resolutions as may be made bY the <br />city council. Any person who violates any such ordinance <br />or regulation may, in addition to any other penalty, be <br />excluded from the privileges of the library. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: That section 2-602 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 3: That section 2-603 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-603. Library board. <br /> <br /> There is hereby established the library board of the <br />City of Santa Ana, having such powers as set forth in this <br />division. The library board shall consist of seven (7) <br />members who shall be subject to appointment and removal and <br />shall serve terms in accordance with section 901 of the <br />Charter of the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />SECTION 4: That section 2-604 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-604.
