ORDINANCE NO. NS- EJC:mb(35) 12/7/88 Rev. 2/6/89 2001 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTIONS 2-600, 2-603, 2-604, AND 2-607; REPEALING SECTIONS 2-602, 2-605, 2-606, 2-608 AND 2-609; AND ADDING ARTICLE XV TO CHAPTER 13 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE SANTA ANA PUBLIC LIBRARY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That section 2-600 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2-600. Establishment. A public library is established in the City for its inhabitants and nonresident taxpayers. The public library shall provide free basic library services, subject always to such ordinances and resolutions as may be made bY the city council. Any person who violates any such ordinance or regulation may, in addition to any other penalty, be excluded from the privileges of the library. SECTION 2: That section 2-602 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby repealed. SECTION 3: That section 2-603 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2-603. Library board. There is hereby established the library board of the City of Santa Ana, having such powers as set forth in this division. The library board shall consist of seven (7) members who shall be subject to appointment and removal and shall serve terms in accordance with section 901 of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana. SECTION 4: That section 2-604 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2-604. Scope of authority.
