Viola- <br />tion of this section shall constitute grounds for revocation <br />of the permit. <br /> <br />SECTION 23: That section 32-20 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 32-20. <br /> <br />Summary suspension of permit pending opportun- <br />ity for hearing; misdemeanor to continue after <br />suspension; revocation. <br /> <br /> (a) Whenever it appears to the city manager that the <br />holder of the permit: <br /> <br />(i) <br /> <br />Has violated any of the provisions of this chapter, <br />or of any rules and regulations adopted pursuant <br />thereto; or <br /> <br />(2) Discontinues operations for more than thirty (30) <br /> days; or <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />Violates any ordinance of the city or statute of <br />the State of California or the United States, <br />which violation indicates the unfitness or indiffer- <br />ence of the holder to offer safe and adequate <br />public transportation service, or would constitute <br />grounds for the denial of the permit; or <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />Commits any act which would have been grounds for <br />the denial of the permit, <br /> <br />the city manager shall have the authority to summarily suspend <br />the permit and order the holder to immediately cease and de- <br />sist any further operation of said vehicle(s). <br /> <br /> (b) Any person who continues to operate a vehicle after <br />any summary suspension thereof, under subsection (a) of this <br />section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction <br />thereof, shall be punishable by a fine not exceeding five <br />hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in jail for a <br />period not exceeding six (6) months, or by such fine and <br />imprisonment. <br /> <br /> <br />
