NS-2053 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />RELATING TO THE SELECTION AND TRAINING <br />STANDARDS OF PUBLIC SAFETY DISPATCHERS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Santa <br />Ana has participated in State POST recruitment and training <br />programs and wishes to continue to do so; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, State law has added the requirement that <br />each participating City adopt an ordinance making the commitment <br />to meet POST standards relating to the selection and training <br />standards for Public Safety Dispatchers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, to assure continued participation in POST <br />programming and financial support from the State, it is in the <br />best interests of the City to adopt this ordinance of compliance; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: The City of Santa Ana desires to receive <br />aid from the State of California under the provisions of Chapter <br />1 of Title 4 of Part 4 of the California Penal Code. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: Pursuant to Penal Code section 13522, the <br />Santa Ana Police Department is hereby directed to adhere to the <br />standards adopted by the California Commission on Peace Officer <br />Standards and Training (POST) pursuant to Penal Code section <br />13510 while receiving such aid. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: Pursuant to Penal Code section 13512, the <br />Cctamission and its representatives may make such inquiries as <br />deemed appropriate by the Commission to ascertain that the Santa <br />Ana Police Department's Public Safety Dispatcher personnel <br /> <br /> <br />
