<br />ORDINANCE NS-2133 <br />PAGE 24 <br /> <br />433 <br /> <br />DOWNTOWN PUSHCART STANDARDS <br /> <br />1. OUANTITY AND LOCATION <br /> <br />A. Fourth Street <br /> <br />A maximum of two pushcarts will be al10wed per City block and <br />only at the cut-out planter bench locations, The pushcart must be <br />located adjacent to the intersection and away from entrances and <br />exits of buildings such that it does not impede pedestrians using <br />crosswalks (see Attachment A), If a direct competitive conflict <br />exists between a street vendor and an adjacent merchant at a <br />location described above, an alternate location in the block may be <br />considered, <br /> <br />B, Civic Center <br /> <br />A maximum of nine (9) carts will be al10wed in the Civic Center <br />and only at the designated locations (see Attachment A), <br /> <br />C, The Executive Director of the Planning & Building Agency <br />reserves the authority to change the location of any pushcart <br />approved to operate in the Downtown District. <br /> <br />2, APPEARANCE AND DESIGN <br /> <br />Vendor's carts and their operators must be approved by Police and Health <br />officials prior to review and approval by the Executive Director of the Santa Ana <br />Planning & Building Agency or his or her designee, Vendors are encouraged to <br />strive for the use of the most aesthetical1y pleasing equipment and employee attire <br />and must conform to the fol1owing design standards: <br /> <br />A, Cart exterior must be of wood, enameled steel, or lexan finish, <br /> <br />B. Colorful and clean canopies or umbrellas are encouraged, but are <br />not mandatory. <br /> <br />C, Any signage located on the cart must be concise, professionally <br />applied, and approved by the Executive Director of Planning & <br />Building or their designee, <br /> <br />Exhibit A <br />Page I of 2 <br />
