NS-2146 <br /> <br />~, <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 36-135 AND 36-493 OF <br />THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO AUTHO- <br />RIZE POLICE OFFICERS TO REMOVE VEHICLES <br />WHICH ARE ILLEGALLY PARKED IN ALLEYS OR <br />PARKWAYS OR IN PERMIT PARKING DISTRICTS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: That section 36-135 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 36-135. <br /> <br />parking in alleys and parkways. <br /> <br />(a) No person shall park any vehicle in any alley in the city <br />except while actively engaged in loading or unloading passengers, <br />freight or merchandise. <br /> <br />(b) No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within any <br />parkway. <br /> <br />(c) Police Officers are authorized to remove a vehicle from <br />the alley or parkway when such vehicle is stopped, standing or <br />parked in violation of this section, provided that a sign giving <br />notice that the vehicle may be removed has been posted. <br /> <br />SECTION 2: That section 36-493 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 36-493. <br /> <br />Penal provisions. <br /> <br />(a) Unless exempted by the prov1s10ns of this article, no <br />person shall stand or park a motor vehicle in any permit parking <br />district in violation of any parking restrictions established <br />pursuant to this article. Police officers are authorized to remove <br />a vehicle from the street when such vehicle is standing or parked <br />in violation of this section, provided that a sign giving notice <br />that the vehicle may be removed has been posted. <br /> <br />(b) No person shall falsely represent himself or herself as <br />eligible for a parking permit or furnish false information to the <br />director or his representatives in an application for a parking <br />permit. <br /> <br />(c) No person who has been issued a parking permit shall <br /> <br />1 <br />
