(Section 301(a)) <br /> <br /> Subsection (a) of Section 301 of the building code is amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Sec. 301.(a) Permits Required. Except as specified in <br />Subsection (b) of this section, no building or structure <br />regulated by this code shall be erected, constructed, en- <br />larged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, con- <br />verted, demolished, or maintained unless a separate permit for <br />each building or structure has first been obtained from the <br />building official. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: That section 8-112 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-112. Certificate of Occupancy (Section 308). <br /> <br /> Section 308 of the building code is amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Sec. 308. (a) Use and Occupancy. (1) No newly constructed <br />building or structure shall be used or occupied, and no change <br />in the existing occupancy classification of an existing <br />building or structure or portion thereof shall be made, until <br />the building official has issued a Certificate of Occupancy <br />therefor as provided herein. <br /> <br />EXCEPTION: Group R, Division 3 and Group M Occupancies; provided <br /> <br /> <br />
