NS-2245 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTIONS 41-199, 41-365.5, 41- <br />412.5, 41-424.5, AND 41-645.5 OF THE <br />SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE, TO REQUIRE A <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR LAUNDROMATS <br />IN THE COMMERCIAL USE DISTRICTS <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That section 41-199 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Bec. 41-199. Laundromats. <br /> <br /> Laundromats may be permitted in the C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 <br />districts subject to the issuance of a conditional use permit. <br />Laundromats are not permitted in any other use district. Laundro- <br />mats shall comply with the following development and performance <br />standards: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />Storefront windows must be of full length type. The vertical <br />plane of the glazing should extend from the top of the floor <br />or bulkhead to the top of the finished ceiling height. <br />Bulkheads, if provided, shall be a maximum of 1 (one) foot in <br />height above the finished floor level. The horizontal plane <br />should extend completely across the storefront except where <br />shear panels are required by the Building Code. <br /> <br />Glazing material must be approved by the Planning Division and <br />the Police Department for color and tint. Tint must not <br />exceed 10%. Reflective glass will not be permitted. <br /> <br />(c) Interior lighting must be approved by the Police Department. <br /> The minimum level shall be 1 (one) footcandle as per Santa Ana <br /> Municipal Code. <br /> <br />(d) All service counters, seating areas, service sinks, and coin <br /> operated dispenser machines must not create an obstructed view <br /> of the entire interior assembly space. No displays, posters, <br /> or other obstructive material shall be installed on or near <br /> the storefront windows. <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />(f) <br /> <br />No public telephones shall be located within the laundromat. <br /> <br />No electronic video games, billiard games, or other gaming <br />devices shall be allowed within the laundromat. No laundromat <br />use may be initiated within 300 feet of any individual tenant <br /> <br /> <br />
