O D NA CE S-2248 485 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Bec. 33-156. Projection onto roadway. <br /> <br /> No person shall install, use or maintain any newsbox which <br />projects onto, into or over any part of the roadway of any public <br />street or which rests, wholly or in part, upon, along, or over any <br />portion of the roadway of any public street. <br /> <br />8ao. 33-157. Placement. <br /> <br /> (a) Newsboxes shall only be placed near a wall or a building <br />or adjacent to the property line. Newsboxes placed adjacent to the <br />property line shall be placed parallel to such property line and <br />not more than four (4) inches ~rom the property line. <br /> <br />(b) No newsbox shall be placed on any parkway. <br /> <br /> (c) Newsboxes shall be fifty-two (52) inches in height, thirty <br />(30) inches in width, and two (2) feet in depth. No placement of <br />one newsbox above another is permitted. <br /> <br /> (d) Every newsbox shall be installed on a single pedestal or <br />up to four (4) may be installed on a multiple post which shall be <br />securely anchored to the surface and shall be constructed, <br />installed and maintained in a safe and secure condition, approved <br />by the director. <br /> <br />Seo. 33-158. Location standards. <br /> <br />Newsboxes shall not be placed, installed or maintained: <br /> <br />(1) Within ten (10) feet of the point of intersection of the <br /> edge of a marked crosswalk; <br /> <br /> (2) On or within thirty (30) feet of any sidewalk return at <br /> any street corner; <br /> <br /> (3) On those sidewalks that have been designated as official <br /> bike routes; <br /> (4) Within twenty (20) feet of any fire hydrant, fire call <br /> box or police call box; <br /> <br />(5) Within ten (10) feet of any driveway; <br />(6) <br /> <br />Within ten (10) feet of light standards, trash recepta- <br />cles, traffic signal control boxes, mail boxes, water <br />meters, gas meters, electrical pull boxes, catch basins <br />and sewer manhole covers and sewer lines; <br /> <br />(7) Within ten (10) feet of any bus bench; <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
