NS- 2252 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />AMENDING SECTION 41-193 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO ATJ~W FOR ADDITIONAL <br />WEEKENDS FOR GARAGE SALES IN THE EVENT <br />OF INCLEMENT WEATHER <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That section 41-193 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sso, 41-193. Garage sale regulatlons. <br /> <br /> No person shall conduct, or allow to be conducted, a garage <br />sale on residentially zoned property in violation of the following <br />regulations: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Garage sales may only be conducted on the first weekend <br />of the months of March, June, September and December, and <br />on such additional weekends as may be designated for <br />permitted garage sales bythe city manager. For purposes <br />of this section, "weekend" means Saturday and Sunday. <br />The city manager may designate an additional weekend for <br />permitted garage sales when, in the city manager's <br />opinion, inclement weather prevented garage sales from <br />being effectively conducted on any weekend on which they <br />were permitted. <br /> <br />(b) Garage sale activity shall be limited to the hours of <br /> 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />(c) Garage sale activity may not be conducted in the public <br /> sidewalks, parkways, streets or alleys. <br /> <br />(d) <br /> <br />Ail items sold at a garage sale must be used goods, wares <br />or merchandise of a household nature, from that house- <br />hold, and not acquired elsewhere for resale. <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Garage sale advertising signs may not be posted on <br />telephone poles, streetlights, traffic signs, or any <br />other structure in the public right-of-way. Such signs <br />may not be posted anywhere earlier than one (1) week <br />prior to the first date of the garage sale nor more than <br />one (1) day after the last date of the garage sale. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
