ORDINANANCE NS-2273 12~ <br />Page 13 <br /> <br />EXCEPTION: Supply air duct, on the discharge side of an evaporative <br />cooler, shall be conducted through rigid metal ducts constructed as <br />set forth in tables nos. 6-A, 6-S and 6-C, and unless prohibited by <br />structural conditions shall be graded in the direction of the supply <br />outlet. Factory made air ducts complying with UMC standard no. 6-1 <br />shall be limited to installation in a vertical position only. <br /> <br />Note: Vertical shall be defined as not more than forty-five (45) <br />degrees from the vertical. <br /> <br /> SECTION 31: That section 8-667 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />See. 8-667. Adoption by reference. <br /> <br /> There is adopted by the city that certain code known as the <br />National Electrical Code, 1993 Edition, together with the Uniform <br />Administrative Code Provisions for the National Electrical Code, <br />1993 Edition (the "administrative provisions") as herein amended. <br />The said code is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth <br />at length herein, as provided for in Section 419 of the Charter of <br />the city, subject to all amendments set forth in this article. Any <br />provision of this article amending the "electrical code" or <br />"National Electrical Code" shall be construed as amending the <br />abovesaid code edition. The abovesaid code edition, as thus <br />amended, together with all other provisions of this article, shall <br />be known as the electrical code of the city of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> SECTION 32: That section 8-700 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Bec. 8-700. Board of Appeals (Section 203) <br /> <br /> Section 203 of the administrative provisions of the electrical <br />code is deleted. <br /> <br /> SECTION 33: That section 8-711 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />sec. 8-711. Permits Required. (Section 301(a) <br /> <br /> Subsection (a) of Section 301 of the administrative provisions <br />of the electrical code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Except as specified in Subsection (b) of this section, it <br />shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to <br />install, alter, repair, move, convert or maintain any electri- <br />cal equipment regulated by this code, or cause the same to be <br />done without first obtaining a separate permit for each <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br /> <br />
