ORDINANCE NS-2273 <br />Page I~ <br /> <br />enforce any the provisions of this code, or whenever the <br />building oIJ icial, the ~health ~officer or their authorized <br />representatives have reasonable cause to believe that there <br />exists in any building or upon any premises, any condition <br />which makes such building or premises substandard as defined <br />in Section 202 of this code, the building official, the health <br />officer or their authorized representatives may enter such <br />building or premises at all reasonable times to inspect the <br />same or to perform any duty imposed upon the building official <br />or the health officer by this code; provided that if such <br />building or premises be occupied, they shall first present <br />proper credentials and demand entry; and if such building or <br />premises be unoccupied, they shall first make a reasonable <br />effort to locate the owner or other persons having charge or <br />control of the building or premises and demand entry. If such <br />entry is refused, the building official, the health officer or <br />their authorized representatives shall have recourse to every <br />remedy provided by law to secure entry. <br /> <br />No owner or occupant or any other person having charge, care <br />or control of any building or premises shall fail or neglect, <br />after proper demand is made as herein provided, to properly <br />permit entry therein by the building official, the health <br />officer or their authorized representatives for the purpose of <br />inspection and examination pursuant to this code. Any person <br />violating this subdivision shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Code <br /> <br /> SECTION 42: That section 8-1170 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-1170. Substandard buildings (S~ction 1001). <br /> <br /> Section 1001 of the Uniform Housing Code is amended to read as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1001 -- DEFINITION. <br /> <br /> "Substandard building" shall mean that term as defined in <br /> Section 17920.3 of the Health and Safety Code of the State of <br /> California, as the same now exists and as it may hereafter be <br /> amended. <br /> <br /> SECTION 43: That section 8-1226 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 8-1226. Adoption by reference. <br /> <br /> There is adopted by the city that certain code known as the <br />Uniform Sign Code, 1994 Edition. The said code is adopted and <br />incorporated as fu].ly as if set forth at length herein as provided <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br /> <br />
