City Hall, Santa Ana,0al. July let, 191~, 7:~0 p.m. Board met in regular session. Present, Trustees ~y, Alderman, MePhee, Greenleaf, Board called to order by President Frank Ey. # In Re City 2~arshal In Re Electdon City ~rshal In Re Curb Line on Tenth St. In re City De~nds In Re Curbs and Driveways on Bush St In Re Extension of time Sewer Contract Co. In Re Bond of A. Butz In Re Open Ditches S.A.V.I. Grubb and the Clerk. On motion McPhee, seconded by Grubb and carried, the office of City ]~arshal is declared vaca~. # On motion the Board proceeded to elect a City Marshal. The following applications were presented, Sam Jernigan, Thee Lacy Jr. and Clinton imes. The Board proceeded to ballot with the following result: Sam Jernigan ~ votes, Thee. Lacy Jr. 2 votes, Clinton Imes, 0 votes, Sam Jernigan having received the majority of the votes cast, the President of the Board thereupon declared; Sam Jernigan having received the majority of the votes cast to be the duly appointed City Marshal to fill the un- expired term, created by the death of George S. Wilson. The Clerk is instructed to notify Sam Jernigan of his election as City Marahal. # On recon~_endation of a com~ittee the curb line on Tenth Street for protection to trees growing on the curb line. ~ngineer is on motion instructed to set grade that the extension of about 8 inches will give The City stakes. The City Clerk is instructed to draw warrants on the City Treasurer covering Den~ands No.90~ to ~ inclusive and as the same are recorded in Demand and Warrant Book No~l,pages 1S, lA and l~, Trustee~Alderma~ is appointed a cor~uittee to investigate curbs and driveways on Bush ~treet between First Street and Second Street. On motion W.N. Hendricks, Sewer Contractor, is granted an extension of time of $0 days to prepare a ma~, and assessn~ent for a sewer district. The bond of A. Butz for a plumber's license was approv- ed and license ordered issued. # On motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, the City Attorney is instructed to notify the S.A.V.Y. Co. to change all open ditches in the City Streets to closed ditches.
