City Hmll, Santa Aha, Cal. January The Board met in regu~lar session. Present, Trustees Alderman, McPhee, Greenleaf, G~ubb, Board called to order by Fresident ~rank Xn Re airy Warrants In Re Transfer to Fire Fund In Re Pool Room Licenses In Re Street Lights In Re Women's Civic League In Re Gas Franchise 30 p.m. and the Clerk. On motion of Alderman, daly seconded and carried, the Clerk is instructed to draw warrants on the City Treasurer covering Demands No. 814 to No.28, inclusive, as the same are recorded in War~ant and De,and Book No.1, pages P~, 29, 50, 51 and 32. # On motion of Grubb, duly seconded and carried, the Clerk is instructed to transfer $~000 from the General ~und to the Fire Fun~. # On motion DuBois and Gerhart, S.E. Deck and C.E. Holmes were granted pool room licenses for one year, and the Clerk is instructed to issue licenses quarterly. An application for street light at Corner of Garneey & Hickey Streets, was referred to Trustee Greenleaf. A comnunication from the Woman's Civic League add~esse~ to the Board and asking them to take the necessary steps to prepare Ordinancem in relation to sanitation, food spection~ and cleaning up weeds, was on motion referred to a committee consisting of T~ustees, Gr~bb,Aldermm~ McPhee. The time having arrived for the opening of bids for a Gas Franchise the Clerk is on motion instructed to open bids. The Southorn Counties Gas Company bid $100 for a franchise to lay down and for a period of 2§ years ~aintmin a system of gas pipes in portions cf the City of Santa Aha, and d~ring said time to cax~y and conduct through said gas pipes, mains and conduits, gas for light, heat and fuel. The bid of the Southern Counties Gas Company being the highest and best bid ~eceived, the same was on motion ~ Alderman, seconded by Greenleaf, accepted by the folloWing vote to-wit: Ayes, Alderman, McPhee, Greenleaf, Grubb and Noes, None.
