First &Walnut In Re Water Main Taylor 0annery On motion of Alderman, duly seconded and carried, the Board rescinded its former action in ordering the City Attorney to comence proceedings for the condemnation of a right-of way over Ninth St. The City 01erk was instructed to have deeds recorded convey- in6 property to the City for street purposes on West 9th St. Mr. Jacobs of North Broadway asked to have an S.A.V.I. ditch moved from where he wants to lay a sidewalk and he offered t~ give a right-of-way for a pipe line. On motion of Grubb, duly seconded and carried, it ie ordered that the ditch be removed from the City street property. On motion duly seconded and carried, John Carlyle was granted permission to remove oneetree on Myrtle Ave. near 0heatnut. Mrs. Levengood appeared before the Boar~ and asked that an alley west of Flower St. between First and Walnut be opened up. On motion duly seconded and oarri~d,~he 2treet Superin- tendent is instructed to clean up alley. # On motion of Grubb,seconded by Alderman,further action ia ordered deferred in reference to opening alley near the corner of 18th and Main Sra., on the assurance that Mr. True will remove the barn from the alley within 90 days. The fore- going motion was carried by the following vote to-wit: Ayes, Alderman, Greenleaf and Grubb. Noes, McPhee and Mr. B. Smith appeared before the Board and asked that the alley from Booth to Sheltom St, between First and Walnut St. be opened ap. On motion duly seconded and carried, the matter was referr~ to a committee consisting of Trustees Orubb and Alderman and Engineer Finley for investigation. Representatives of Taylore' Cannery appeared before the Board and asked permission to extend the water main on ~aet Fourth Street near their cannery, at their expense, for the purpose of fire protection. On mgtion of McPhee, duly seconded and carried, the request is granted.
