On motion of Alderman, dul7 ascended and oaxried, the City 0lark is directed to proceed to open bide forpumps and motors for the Water Dept. Bids were received from the following persons: Horton-Hemstock Co., American Well and Prospecting Co. Byron-Jackson Iron W~rk~, P.E. Woods Pump Co., The ~ayne- & Bowler Corporation and N.H.Cox. On motion of Alderman, duly secondld and carried, the above bids were referred to a committee consisting of Trastees Alderman, Orubb and Greenleaf and Water ~pt. Reid for investigation and report. The petition of D.N.Xelly, et al, for paving North Ross from 5th St. to Washington Ave., was on motion referred to the City ~ngineer for investigation. The City ~ngineer reported that more than 60 per cent of the frontage had signed the petition. On motion of Orub~ d~ly seconded and carried, the prayer of the petition was granted and the contractor ia per- mittedto enter upon said street for the purpose of paving as soon as the public utilities have installed their pipe lines. # The petition of T.F.McDonnel et al, to extend the sewer line on Chestnut Ave., from Flower St., to Baker the property owners to pay the coat of the pipe and th~ Oity to install the same was on motion of Alderman seconded by MoPhee granted. # Ordinance No.571, an aa~ Ordinance establishing a new datum plane for the City of Santa Aha, and establishing the grade of a portion of West FifSh 6t., in slid 0ity was on motion referred to the City Attorney and the City Engineer. # On motion of M~Phes, duly s®oonded and carried, the City Attorney is directed to take the necessary le~l steps to foro~ Public U~ilit~s corporations to repair dam~ed streets in the airy of Santa Aha, damaged by them, and upon their failure to re,air said streets the Street Supt. is directed to make said repairs and present his bill to said company for sc doing. # Mr. Alderman stated that it was essential for the bettermer~ of the water plant at the corner of First and Palm Sts.,th~ they ~rocure two lots plant. On motion of Alderman, from Mr. 0lapp lying F~st of said Water seconded by Grubb and carried, Trustees ~y, MoPhee and Greenleaf are named a committee to meet Mr. Frank Clapp and price on t~o iota ~aet ei~ater plant
