Overtime - Not less than one and one-half (1 1/2) times tho above rates~ Sundays and holidays ~ not less than one and one-~alf (I 1/2) times the above rates° The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a ~orkfn~ day of eight (8) hour~, and in the event that laborers, workmen or mechanics ere employed less than eight (8~ hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the foregoin~ rates that the number of hours o£ employment beers to eight In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with the regulations of the California Aporenticeship council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the work° 1~e bidder must submit with bis proposal a satisfactory check certified by ~ responsible bank and payable to the order of. the City of Santa Aha, or a bidder's bond, for an amount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the pro- po~ed contract if the same is awarded to him~ and in event of failure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall become the proporty of the City~ The amount of the bond to be ~iven to secure a faithful performance of'the contract for said work shall be fifty (50) per cent of the contract orice thereof, and an additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (50) pe~, cent of the contract price for said work ahall be given to secure the paymen~ of claims for any materials or supplies f~nish~ d for the performance of the work contracted to be dona by the Contractor, or any work or.labor of any kind done thereon, and the Contractor will also be ~ecuired to furnish a certificate that he carries com- pensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be d.ne under contract which may be entered into between him and the said City for the construction of s~id work. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not licensed in accordance with.the provisions of the Contractor's. License Act, or to whom a ~rooosal form has not been Issued by the City Engineer.~ The work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plans and specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in the office of the City Engineer, Room 201, of' the City Hall of Santa Aha, California~ Copiee o~' the plans and soecifica- tions ~ill be f~nished upon application to the City Engineer for which ~ charge of ($2.00) two dollars will be recuired.
