Overtime - Not less than one a~d one~kalf (1 1/2) times the above rates. Sundays and holidays (except watchmen, guards and flag- men) not less than one and one-h~lf (1 1/2) times the above rates. The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a working day of eight (8) hours, and in ~he event that laborers, workmen or mechanics are employed less than eight (8) hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the foregoin~ ra~ee that the number of hours of employment bears to eight <8)o In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code, as amended by Chapter 971, S~atutes of 1939, and in accordance with ~hs regulations of the California Apprenticeship council~ properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the work. The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Ana~ or a bidder's bond, for an amount not less than ten (lC) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will ~nter into the pro- posed contract if the same Is awarded to him, and in event of failure ~o enter into such contriver said check or bond shall become the property of the City. The amount of the bond go bo given to secure a faithful performance of the contract for said work shall be fifty (50) per cen~ of the contract price ther~of~ and an additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (50) pe~r cent of the contract price for said work shall be given to ~ecure the payment of claims for any materials or su~plies fu~ni~hed for the performance of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labo~ of any kind done ther~on, and the Contractor will also be required to furnish a certificate that he carries com- pensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be done under contrac~ which m~y be entered into between him and the said City for the cons13ruct~.on of s~id work.
