V54 and V55. <br /> <br />A communication from D. J. Xirb2 and E. T. Burdett was <br />read in which permission to install waste paper contsiner~ <br />in business section wag requested, eontelners to be main- <br />tained by Eirby and Burdett at no expense to the City and <br />City to receive 2% of revenue derived from advertising <br />thereon. On motion of Trustee ~na~sn, seconded by <br />Purinton and carried, proposal wes accepted for period of <br />one year with privilege of renewal for one year end all <br />other permits heretofore granted for similar purposes <br />revoked.' <br /> <br />On motion of Xruetee Purintcn, seconded by Chapmen and <br />carried, petition for ornamental lights on Broadway from <br />let to ~th Street was granted wi~h provision that propert <br />owners and petitiome~e furnish City with ~nsurence polio <br />from the lighting standard company ~ oteotlng city from <br />B?eaka~e or damage to stander, ds or bond cove~Ing same, <br />without coat to the City~ C~ty Attorney to prepare <br />necessary proceedings. <br /> <br /> This being the date, time and hour to which hearing of <br /> ~rotests on the proposed opening of V~ctoris Drive hsd <br /> been continued, the Boa rd proceeded to hear said protests <br /> <br /> The report of the City Engineer was received which re- <br /> ~ort ahcwe~ that ~.5~ per cent of the total frontage of <br /> land in the District to be assessed for the said opening <br /> of Victoria Drive.was represented by the protests. <br /> <br /> The Board thereupon determined that the protest did <br /> not represent 80% of the total frontage in the dietrlct <br /> and that at least one of the protests was in the form <br /> required by law end on motion of Trustee Chapman, seconde. <br /> b2 Purinton and ~me~im~usly carried, the Clerk was in- <br /> structed to publish a notice for five (5) days in the <br /> Santa Aaa Daily' Evening Register, setting May 25th, 19~, <br /> at V:30 o'clock P.
