Municipal Band for summer concerts et a stipulated price.a~ war, ant, amount $250, ordered drawn Sn favor of Band to cover deficit in trip to Phoenix. On -etlon of Trustee Purlnton, seceded by Collier and carried, Clerk was authorized to s~gnthe Boar~'e arDrova~ to Maps, Tracts Nos. V54 and V55. A communication from D. J. Xirb2 and E. T. Burdett was read in which permission to install waste paper contsiner~ in business section wag requested, eontelners to be main- tained by Eirby and Burdett at no expense to the City and City to receive 2% of revenue derived from advertising thereon. On motion of Trustee ~na~sn, seconded by Purinton and carried, proposal wes accepted for period of one year with privilege of renewal for one year end all other permits heretofore granted for similar purposes revoked.' On motion of Xruetee Purintcn, seconded by Chapmen and carried, petition for ornamental lights on Broadway from let to ~th Street was granted wi~h provision that propert owners and petitiome~e furnish City with ~nsurence polio from the lighting standard company ~ oteotlng city from B?eaka~e or damage to stander, ds or bond cove~Ing same, without coat to the City~ C~ty Attorney to prepare necessary proceedings. This being the date, time and hour to which hearing of ~rotests on the proposed opening of V~ctoris Drive hsd been continued, the Boa rd proceeded to hear said protests The report of the City Engineer was received which re- ~ort ahcwe~ that ~.5~ per cent of the total frontage of land in the District to be assessed for the said opening of Victoria Drive.was represented by the protests. The Board thereupon determined that the protest did not represent 80% of the total frontage in the dietrlct and that at least one of the protests was in the form required by law end on motion of Trustee Chapman, seconde. b2 Purinton and ~me~im~usly carried, the Clerk was in- structed to publish a notice for five (5) days in the Santa Aaa Daily' Evening Register, setting May 25th, 19~, at V:30 o'clock P. M. at the C~unctl Chamhe~ of the Cit2 ~ell of said City as the time and place where any and all protests against the said proceeding will be hear~ and determined by the Board cf Trustees.
