RESOLUTION NO. 52-48 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUESTING A GRANT I~ROM HIGI~VA¥ USERS T~ FUND ~OR <br />RESURFACING DELHI ROAD <br /> <br /> ~, Section 2150 of the Streets and Highways Code grants <br />authority to Counties, under certain conditions, to expend funds ap- <br />portioned out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund to aid in the <br />construction or improvement of streets within Cities that are deter- <br />mined to be in the general County interest; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the CITY OF SANTA ANA desires to pave Delhi Road from <br />Main Street to ~ristol Street with paving forty feet in width, the <br />north one-half of which paving would be within the limits of the CITY <br />of SANTA ANA, a City of the Fifth Class in the County of Orange, State <br />of California, and the South one-half of which paving would be in un- <br />incorporated territory in the County of Orange, California; <br /> <br /> NOW, TI~EP~EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of <br />Santa Aha hereby requests the County of Orange for a grant of aid out <br />of said County's apportionment of the Highway Users Tax Fund in amount <br />of Eorty-five Thousand Dollars ($45,000.00) to be used to aid said City <br />in paving Delhi Road from Main Street to Bristol Street with a strip <br />of paving forty feet wide, the north one-half of which paving would b,e <br />in said City and the south one-half of which paving would be in said <br />County, at an estimated cost of Fifty-two Thousand Eight Hundred <br />Dollars ($52,800.00); <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Board of Supervisors of the <br />County of Orange he and it is hereby requested to find that the pav- <br />ing of Delhi Road in the manner herein set out is in the general <br />County interest for the reason that it is an east and west artery in <br />the central part of the County, one-half of which is a County Aoad in <br />the center of a rapidly developing area which will increasingly be <br />used for traffic moving from east to west in an area where there are <br />presently, no good east - west traffic arteries; <br /> <br /> <br />
