On motion of Trus-' <br />tee Goods, seconded by Chapman and carried, City Engineer <br />was instructed to prepare plans and specifications for the <br />improvement of said street. <br /> <br />A petition was presented to the Board requesting the paving <br />of Custer Street from Stafford Street to its termination <br />north of Washington Avenue with asphaltic concrete pavement <br />Petition represented 52.15% of frontage involved. On motion <br />of Trustee Goods, seconded by Collier and carried, City <br />Engineer was instructed to prepare plans and specificatims <br />for the improvement of said street. <br /> <br />This being the time and place ~®t for opening bids for fur- <br />nishing the City of Santa Ana with gas engines, and the Board <br />of Trustees being now in open session, proceed to open, exa- <br />mine and declare all bids receive% as follows: <br /> <br />Western Machinery Company's Proposal. <br /> <br /> i - 120 H.P. Western ~lex (2 cyl.) Natural Gas E~g. <br /> i - 16~ H.P. " " " " <br /> installed with attachments.at $14,700.00. <br />Terms of payment as follows. $4000.00 upon completion of <br />the installation, the balance of $10,?00.00 to be paid for <br />by the monthly saving between the cost of operating the sane <br />plant by electric power on the P-1 Schedule now in effect. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chapman, seconded by Goods and carried, <br />the bid of the Western Machinery Company was accepted and <br />the City Attorney instructed to prepare contract according <br />to schedule submitted with bid. <br /> <br /> Roll ~all: Ayes, Truste~ C.H.
