<br />tor having been taken under advisement until thi
<br />date, and the Street Superintendent having
<br />checked said bids, on motion of Trustee Goode,
<br />ded by McBride and carried, contract for furnisl
<br />the City of Santa Ara with tractor was awarded
<br />the M. Eltlste Machinery Company at price of $1
<br />and the Clerk instructed to return certified
<br />to the unsuccessful bidder.

<br />This being the day and hour set for hear~n6 appe
<br />or protests of any person interested in the
<br />improvement or assessment made therefor on ~ pot
<br />of Wright Street, as per Resolution of Intentio~
<br />1898, and the Board of Trustees being now in re
<br />session, proceeded to consider protests present
<br />
<br />NO peraon'appeartng to pretest or object against
<br />assessment or any other of the proceedings takel
<br />resolution overruling protests or obtee%~ona~to
<br />assessment, approving assessment and ordering the
<br />Street Superintendent to attach warrant and record,
<br />was duly introduced, read, considered, designated
<br />Resolution No. 1785 and passed by the following
<br />

<br />This being the time and place set for~ch for the
<br />
<br />opening of bids or proposals for the imstallation
<br />and construction of an ornamental lighting system
<br />
<br />on portions of Third Street, Fourth Street and
<br />
<br />Sycamore Street, as briefly described in Resolution
<br />
<br />No. 1740, and the Board of Trustees being duly eon-
<br />
<br />vened ~n'open session, proceeded to open, examine
<br />
<br />and declare all bi~s received, aS follows:
<br />
<br />Item No. 1. The ~urnishing and installation of all
<br />necessary conduits, fittings, cables along North
<br />Sycamore Street, West Fourth Street and East and
<br />West Third Street, complete with the furnishing of
<br />all necessary equipment, labor and material for the
<br />sum of $ complete.
<br />Item No. 2. The furnishing, installation and con-
<br />struction of that portion of the lighting system,
<br />except the conduit and cable, along North Sycamore
<br />Street and East and West Third Street Includingi thir~
<br />ty seven (37~ and twenty six (2S) Ornamental DoUble~
<br />Light Standards, respectively and all necessary: con~
<br />crete foundations, anchor bolts, pot heads, wiring,
<br />lamps, globes, canopies, and other ~tems above grouted,
<br />complete with the furnishing of all necessary equip-
<br />ment, labor and material for the sum of $ complete
<br />Item No. 3. The furnishing, installation and con-
<br />struction of that po~.tion of the lighting system,
<br />except the conduit and cable along West Fourth
<br />Street including Twenty (20) ornamental double
<br />standards.and all necessary concrete foundations,
<br />anchor bolts, potheads, wirlng, lamps, globes,
<br />pies, and other items above ground, complete wi~h
<br />the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labo~ and
<br />
