SPECIFICATION FOR RE-ROOFING <br />sANTA ANA CITY HALL <br /> <br />Scope of Work: <br /> <br /> All composition roof areas excepting floor in tower are <br />to be re-roofed as-specified below. <br /> <br />Preparation: <br /> <br /> Remove all blisters and rough or high spots in existing <br />roofing, which might in any manner affect the application or <br />efficiency of new roof. After above operations are completed, <br />thoroughly sweep entire roof area. <br /> <br />~aterials and Application: <br /> <br /> 1. Apply Johns-Manville or equal, Flexstone Standard <br />Asbestos Built-up Roof as follows: <br /> <br /> First: Lay one thickness of Johns-~anville No. 45 <br />Asphalt Saturated Asbestos Felt, lapping the sheets 2" and <br />nailing 6" centers through the laps and at 18" centers <br />through the longitudinal center of each sheet in two lines <br />spaced lC" apart, the nails to be staggered. <br /> <br /> Second: Over the base felt, lay two plies of Johns- <br />Manville 15 lb. Asphalt Saturated Asbestos Felts, lapping <br />each sheet to provide 15" exposure, mopping the full width <br />under each with 30 lbs. Johns-Manville Asphalt per ply per <br /> square. <br /> <br /> Third: Coat entire surface uniformly with Johns- <br />Manville Asphalt (2o lbs. per square.) <br /> <br /> 2. Two ply Asbestos Base Flashing shall be installed at <br />all intersections of roofs and vertical surfaces, as per <br />manufacturer's specification. <br /> <br /> 3. Apply 3 course F~ashlng at s~l ws~ls, equal to <br />Johns-Manville Base and Asbestile System. <br /> <br /> 4. Coat inside and top surfaces of Parapet Walls with <br />Regal Roof Coating. <br /> <br /> 5. Install 26 ga. Galvanized Iron Drip Strips, at <br />edges of stair and elevator pent house roofs. <br /> <br />6.
