In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code, as amended by Chapter 971~ Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with the regulations of the California Apprenticeship council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the work. The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Ana~ or a bidder's bond., for an amount not lees than ten (lC) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the pro- posed contract if the seme is awarded to him, and in event of failure to enter into such ccitt&ct said check or bond shall become the property of the City. The amount of the bond to b~ given to secure a faithful performance of the contract for said work shall be fifty (50) per cent of the contract price ~hereof, and an additional bond in an sm~ount equ~l to fifty (50) pe~ cent of the contract price for said work sh~ll be given to ~ocure th, payment of claims for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the work contracted to be dono by the Contractor~ or any work or labor of any kind done thereon, and the Contractor will also be required to furnish a certificate that he carries com~ pensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be done under contract which may be entered into between him and the said City for the cons~ruction of said work° The work is to be done in acc:ordance with the specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in the office of the Park Superintendent, Room 305, of the City Hall~ San~a Ana, California. No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's License Act.
