Shelton. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Agreem~t with <br /> <br />General Petroleum Corp. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelly, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the communication of the Santa Ana Realty Board <br />u~ging the Council to encourage property owners in the <br />planting of trees and shrubbery and that the city take <br />the initiative in the matter, was accepted and placed on <br />file. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Goode and car- <br /> <br /> ried, request of the Southern California Telephone Com- <br /> to them <br /> pany for the consent of the City to transfer and assign/ <br /> <br />such franchise rights as the City is legally empowered to <br />give under Ordinance No. 543 from the Pacific Telephone <br />and Telegraph Company, was referred to the Attorney. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Goode and car- <br />ried, the Mayor was authorized to send a telegram to the <br />State Senator and State Assemblyman objecting to the pres. <br />ent form of Bill No. 1861 and requesting that action be <br />withheld until bill is amended to the satisfaction of all' <br />parties concerned as the bill is unfair to the City of <br />Santa Ans. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelly, seconded by Goode and car- <br />ried, George Bold was appointed motorcycle officer to tak~ <br />effect March 15th, 1931, and W. Hunter Leach and E. B. <br />Adams were appointed special police officers during the <br />time Wortham Shows are holding their carnival. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Kelly, seconded by Goode and car- <br />ried, the Clerk was instructed to notify E. P. Shelton <br />that his protest was referred to a committes,whlch inves- <br />tigated assessments against his property on S. Patton <br />Street and they found that the assessments were equitable <br />on said property. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, Seoonded by Sutton and car- <br />ried, the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign agree- <br />ment with the General Petroleum Corporation covering <br />installation of electric sign and flood light on their <br />property situated on the northeast corner of Seventeenth <br /> <br /> <br />
