Kelly. <br /> <br />~ Re <br /> <br />Electric Sign. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, Eeconded by Sutton and car <br />tied, the application of the Cope Electric Company to <br />hang electric sign for Sherwin-Williams Paint Store at <br />303 W. Fourth Street, was granted under supervision of <br />the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Ralph H. Morrison. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by McBride and car- <br />ried, the application of Ralph H. Norrison for ~ <br />to conduct a flower stand and nursery business at the <br />northeast corner of Wright and First Street, was granted <br />without posting.for~the reason that no buildings are to <br />Be erected. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Appointment <br /> <br />Deputy Poundmaster. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by Sutton and car- <br />ried, Geo. W. Kidd was appointed Deputy Poundmaster of <br />the City of Santa~Ana at the rate of $4.00 per day. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Reso. No. 2297 <br /> <br />Declaring Weeds <br /> <br />a Public Nuisance. <br /> <br />A Resolution was introduced entitled as follows: <br /> <br /> "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Aha determining and declaring that weeds which bear <br />seeds of a wingy or downy nature and attain such a <br />large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, and <br />which are noxious and dangerous are growing upon certain <br />streets, sidewalks and private property in said ~ity of <br />Santa Ana and are a public nuisance; directing the Stree~ <br />Superintendent to post notices to destroy said weeds as <br />required by law; fixing the time for hearing objections <br />and protests, and directing the abatement thereof in <br />accordance with an Act of the Legislature of the State <br />of California entitled, "An Act authorizing Municipali- <br />ties to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon <br />the streets or sidewalks or upon private property within <br />Municipalities to be a public nuisance, creating a lien <br />upon the property fronting upon such streets or side- <br />walks, or upon which such nuisance exists for the cost <br />of abating the same, approved May 26, 1918", and <br />amendments theroto." <br /> <br />The resolution was ordered filed, read, considered, <br />designated Resolution No. 2297 and passed b~ the follow- <br />lng vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Trustees J.L.
