Unpaid Assess. <br /> <br />ie~thFlower Street. <br /> <br />349 <br /> <br /> ~ motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by McBride and oar' <br /> tied, the bid of the Union Oil Company for city gasoline <br /> at .10~ per-gallon for the coming ~a~ starting ~uly <br /> 1st, 1931, was.accepted and the Clerk instructed to re- <br /> tumn the checks of ~he unsuccessful bidders. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by HasenJaeger <br />and carried~ the Mayor and Clerk were instructed to sign <br />agreement with the ~eneral Petroleum Corporation of <br />California covering the o~nstructiom of an electric sign <br />at ~he northeast corner of Seventeenth and Broadway ex- <br />tending over the fifteen foot set-back line established <br />along-North Broadway. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Witmer and oar- <br />tied, the Mayor and Clerk were instm~oted to sign an <br />a~reement wi~h G. C. Oriffith covering the construction <br />of an electric sign at the southwest corner of First and <br />Sycamore Streets, extending over the five foot set-back <br />line established by ordinance on West First Street. <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Warner, seoonded by McBride and oar- <br />tied, the City Attorney was instructed to notify Senator <br />N. T. EdWsmds and Assemblyman Edwamd Craig that the City <br />of Santa Aha opposes Assembly Bill No. 486 pertaining to <br />the levy-of license tax against wholesalers delivering <br />merchandise to retailers in municipalities. <br /> <br />O~motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Wa~ner and car- <br />ried, the City Attorney was &utlu)~ized to p~ooeed with <br />suit against the County of Orange to obtain moneys cover- <br />in6 delinquent taxes. <br /> <br /> ~nia b~ng the time and place when and where interested <br /> persons might appear and show cause why bonds should not <br /> bo issued upon the secumity of the unpaid assessments f~ <br /> work done and improvement w~4e upon portion of North <br /> Flower Street between Santa Clara Avenue and North Park <br /> Boulevard, in accordance with Resolution of Intention No. <br /> 226~ and the City Council being now in session, proceede~ <br /> to hear all protests presented. <br /> <br />No person appearing to protest o~ show any cause why <br />bonds should not be issued a resolution was introduced <br />detex'minin6 the unpaid assessments for work and improve- <br />ment made upon said streets, the aggregate thereof~ <br />directing bonds to be issued for the security of the <br /> <br /> <br />
