R SOL TION N0._53- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COND~NATION OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES TO WIDEN AND REMOV~ OBSTRUCTION FROM RICHLAND STREET AND DECLARING THE PUBLIC NECESSITY THEREFOR WHEREAS, Richland Street as it exists in the City of Santa Ann, California is 60 feet in width except at one location west of Shelton Street where the south one-half of said Richland Street is privately owned for a distance of 110 feet whereon there is a large tree and other physical obstructions so that the City right of way at said point and the usable area is only 30 feet in width, which condition constitutes a present, ~mmediate, and continuing traffic hazard and in which area the street is inadequate in width to accommodate the present and future demands of traffic thereon; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of Santa Aha does hereby find and determine that the public interest and necessity require that Richland Street be widened to a standard width of 60 feet as shown on a map thereof on file in the office of the City Engineer and herein referred to for greater detail, to ac- commodate the present and f~ture demands of traffic thereon and fur- ther require that said City do have, take and acquire an easement for said purpose in, over, and through that certain parcel of real property lying in the City of Santa Ann, 0ounty of Orange, State of California and described as: A strip of land 30' x 110' more particularly described as follows: The Northerly 30' of Lot 1, in the Highland Street Tract as shown on a map recorded in Miscellaneous Map Book 6 at Page ~0, Records of Orange County, State of California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney be and he is hereby ordered and directed to bring an action in the name of the City of Santa Ann in the Superior Court of the State of California in end for the County of 0range, for condemnation of said property necessary to be taken as herein ordered and heretofore described and do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final determine- tion.
