In Re Request of Rurup Estate. On motion of Trustee Warner, seconded by HasenJaeger and carried, the application of Henry 0kamoto for permission to sell Christmas trees at his residence, 1350 S. Main Street, during the holidays, was referred to the Chief of Police. . A protest signed by merchants on N. Main Street between Fourth and Sixth Streets against the barricade across the sidewalk on the east side of Main Street at Fourth Street and requesting same to be moved back to the property line was read. On motion of Trustee Warner, secc~ded by Penn and carried, the protest of merchants was referred to the Street Commissioner and City Engineer with power to act. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried the application of Alex Valles for permission to conduct a pool h$11 on Central Avenue, Gloryetta, was granted as recommended by the Chief of Police providing electrical wiring is satisfactory to the Electrical Inspector. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried the communication of James ~Sleeper, Assessor o~ Orange County, advising that on account of the depreciation in property values, a material reduction in assessed values for 1953 will be made, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Penn, secc~ded by HasenJaege~ and carried, the application of Clark David Bart for a permit to drive a taxicab for C. F. Eddleman, was referred to the Taxicab Committee and on recommendation of the Commit. tee the application was granted. .
