Main <br />Street, during the holidays, was referred to the Chief <br />of Police. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A protest signed by merchants on N. Main Street between <br />Fourth and Sixth Streets against the barricade across the <br />sidewalk on the east side of Main Street at Fourth Street <br />and requesting same to be moved back to the property line <br />was read. On motion of Trustee Warner, secc~ded by Penn <br />and carried, the protest of merchants was referred to <br />the Street Commissioner and City Engineer with power to <br />act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried <br />the application of Alex Valles for permission to conduct <br />a pool h$11 on Central Avenue, Gloryetta, was granted as <br />recommended by the Chief of Police providing electrical <br />wiring is satisfactory to the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Warner and carried <br />the communication of James ~Sleeper, Assessor o~ Orange <br />County, advising that on account of the depreciation in <br />property values, a material reduction in assessed values <br />for 1953 will be made, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, secc~ded by HasenJaege~ and <br />carried, the application of Clark David Bart for a permit <br />to drive a taxicab for C. F. Eddleman, was referred to <br />the Taxicab Committee and on recommendation of the Commit. <br />tee the application was granted. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A eom~nunication from Emma Rurup Hill and Minnie E. <br />was read <br />Courtney representing the Rurup Estate,/requesting replac, <br /> <br />merit of a twelve inch irrigation pipe line on the right- <br />of-way deeded for Santa Aha Boulevard or the furnishing <br />of material and labor by the Estate provided the City <br />pay $170.00 for the work. On motion of Trustee Warner, <br />seconded by Penn and carried, the request of the Ru~up <br />Estate was referred to the Street and Water Commissioners <br />and the City Engineer. <br /> <br />In Re On motion of Trustee HasenJaeger, seconded by Warner and <br />Cancellation Taxes carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a <br /> <br />on Bowers Memorial Museum Property. Resolution for the ca~cellation of taxes on the Bowers <br /> <br />Memorial Museum property. <br /> <br /> <br />
